ChatGPT, Perplexity and Claude were knocked offline in an internet blackout thought to be caused by issues with Cloudfare.
Users began to report problems earlier today regarding the problems they were having with a cloudfare unblock notice coming up across popular sites.
Cloudfare admitted there was an issue and it was experiencing problems saying that they were working to resolve it as swiftly as possible.
Reddit forums were set alight with comments of students and professionals complaining about how they were unable to complete their workload with the help of their favourite AI tools .
This is the second outage to come within a span of a few months with the other being Amazon's AWS systems experiencing issues which caused social media platforms like Snapchat to stop working.
In a statement Cloudfare said: "Cloudflare is aware of, and investigating an issue which impacts multiple customers: Widespread 500 errors, Cloudflare Dashboard and API also failing. We are working to understand the full impact and mitigate this problem. More updates to follow shortly.”
The story is developing.
